OUR FAMILY
ABOUT THE CROWELLS
In 2006, after 28 years in the seafood industry, Jim Crowell took a bold step to start his own business alongside his wife, Cindy, and their two sons, Justin and Brandon. At the time, Justin had just graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, while Brandon was still a junior. What began as a family endeavor quickly turned into a thriving enterprise, with Cindy initially planning to assist in getting the business off the ground by managing the books. Little did she know, her role would evolve, and she remains an integral part of the team to this day.

In 2012, the Crowell family reached a significant milestone by moving into a facility that allowed them to butcher fresh fish. This pivotal moment enabled them to broadened their reach and solidify their presence in the Northern Nevada and Tahoe markets. Today, Sierra Gold Seafood stands as a leader in seafood distribution, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and family values that have drive their success.

The journey started with a single product: the 26/30 PD T/Off Black Tiger Shrimp, which they proudly supplied to the Eldorado Casino. This marked the beginning of their venture into the seafood market. Over the. Years, the family business gradually expanded its offerings, introducing more and more frozen items, live lobster tanks, and a box-in-box-out shellfish program.
